Two Interdisciplinary Mediators and Expert Trainers for Both Classes!

 

Lara Traum, Esq.

Lara is a mediator, collaborative attorney, parenting coordinator and partner at Roytberg Traum Law and Mediation, P.C., practicing as an attorney in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and as a mediator internationally. Lara is also the founder of PeaceChord LLC. Lara regularly trains mediators and family law professionals in the US and internationally.

A fully out-of-court practitioner by choice, Lara is an active Board member and past president of the NYS Council on Divorce Mediation and an attorney-member of Long Island Collaborative Divorce Professionals. Lara has authored numerous articles on mediation and collaborative law and co-authored the books Effectively Representing Clients in Family Mediation (ABA) and Family Lawyer as Peacemaker (ABA). 

Renee LaPoint, M.S.

Renee is the owner of The Mediation Center, Inc. in Rochester and has been a divorce/family mediator in practice for 15 years. Renee is an Accredited Member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation (NYSCDM) and is the co-chair of the Training committee. Renee is also a past-President of the organization and, until recently, the chair of the NYSCDM Annual Symposium for the past decade. 

Renee also serves as a neutral facilitator for Collaborative Law cases and is the Past President of the Collaborative Law Association of the Rochester Area (CLARA). Renee is a co-trainer for mediation, communication and collaborative processes. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Syracuse University and has been working with individuals, couples and families for over 30 years.
